Why choose a black background?
Did you know that every time you open a web page you use a certain amount of energy to view the page. Apparently the more white on the screen, the more energy you use to open the page. "a given monitor requires more power to display a white (or light) screen than a black (or dark) screen." Roberson et al, 2002.
